How do I care for my BYEM garments?
We truly believe that if you take good care of your garments, you allow them to take care of you in the long run. That’s why we recommend following the wash instructions provided with your garment, found both online at BYEM.com and on the care label attached to your garment. We also believe in repair over throwing a garment away and are working on creating a little guide on caring for your clothing with intention to help you do so.

Where can I find information about sizes?
All of our clothing comes with an individual size specification on the individual product page so that you can measure before you order.
We want your garment to fit you impeccably so if you have any other size related enquiry contact us at hello@BYEM.com and we'll be more than happy to guide you in the right direction.
We work hard to ensure that all of our garments are made with quality and care so that they last for long and wear well with time.
We test the quality of our textiles and samples by taking them through a wash, care and wear test where we see how they react to everyday wear and tear. It makes us feel happy and safe knowing that they are timeless in more ways than one.
Quality for us is also being kind to the earth and the humans who make our clothing. We have chosen to work closely with our textile suppliers and our manufacturing partners in the UK and Portugal, which helps us guarantee a quality ethical and sustainable production. We have also independently GOTS certified BYEM (read more about that here).
What’s your stance on Sustainability and Ethics?
We are a slow fashion brand, meaning we believe in a personal style that transgresses time and which is supported by ethical and sustinable production practices and materials. That’s why we design clothing that’s meant to last beyond the regular fashion seasons, so that your wardrobe doesn't need to be constantly replaced but rather stays true to you through the seasons.
We believe that a sustainable fashion production is the only way forward and have since day one made it a priority to have a positive impact on the world by minimizing our environmental impact and by only working with suppliers that provide guaranteed ethical treatment of their workers. For this reason, all of our garments are sustainably tailored to the modern woman using sustainable textiles, such as organic and recycled ones, and finished with enviormentally friendly OEKO Tex certified accessories such as PVC and nickel free buttons and zippers.

Is BYEM sustainably or ethically certified?
Not at this moment, however we are in the process of applying for a GOTS , Global Organic Textile Standard, certification as the textiles and manufacturing of our collections are all GOTS certified.
GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed by an independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
We are very proud to soon carry this certification as a small brand, as a lot of work has to go into testing our garments so that we can ensure that they are environmentally friendly.

Where do you manufacture?
All of our garments are produced in a small town next to Porto, Portugal, by a GOTS, Global Organic Textile Standard, certified factory that we have worked closely with since the beginning. It’s been important for us to build a relationship with a company that is as eager as we are to work on ethics and sustainability and have done the following in recent years to improve working conditions and their environmental impact:
- Entire factory is supplied by 100% green energy derived from renewable sources.
- Received their GOTS certification in 2016.
- OEKO Tex Certified as well.
- Paying above Portuguese minimum wage for factory workers.
- Provide employees with two vans that transfer employees free of charge for morning pick-ups, to go home and come back during lunch breaks, and to go home after work.
- Employees are scheduled for 8hours per day but have 20 minutes of break included in this time so they work only 7.8hrs and also have 1.5hrs of lunch break.
- All employees are free to be unionised, although not everyone is.
- This year: Installing solar panels and LED lights.
Where do you source fabrics?
We work with smaller European textile vendors that share our vision of a sustainable and ethical fashion industry. They source organic, recycled and ethical textiles globally to ensure the highest quality and practices for smaller brands.

What type of dye do you use to colour your clothing?
As the supply chain behind each garment is GOTS, Global Organic Textile Standard, certified, this means that all dye that has been used in our collections is classified as low-impact dye or lower.
How did you choose the suppliers you work with?
Since a slow and sustainable mindset is at the core of everything we do, we knew we needed to work with companies and brands that shared this vision and understood our intention to create sustainable style. It took us quite some time to find the right suppliers and after a lot of due diligence, we decided to start working with only sustainable and ethically certified suppliers. We did this as we felt they had made a similar commitment to quality, style and ethics, and have so far not have to looked back once!
What happens after I have placed my order?
After you have placed your order with us you will receive an order confirmation confirming the items you ordered, the delivery address and the price paid.
Should any item be out of stock in your order, if there is a delay or any other issue you will be notified via e-mail shortly.
Which payment methods can I use?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal.
Once your order has been placed, the order amount will be held on the payment method provided. After the order is confirmed and dispatched, payment will be taken. Should the issuer of your payment method not authorize payment to BYEM.com for the order, we are not liable to compensate for any delay or non-delivery.
Your card payment and/or PayPal payment is securely handled using security technology and SSL encryption techniques, which prevents unauthorized access to payment details. Your card details or private PayPal information is not visible or accessible to anyone from our staff.
Where do you ship?
We ship to all European countries as well as to Australia, Canada and USA.
The cost of delivery is set and advised before you check-out and depends on your order destination.
Our European orders are normally delivered within 2-4 working days and are traceable with the tracking number you receive once your order has been dispatched.
Sales Tax/ VAT is included in all prices within the European Union.
Australia, Canada and USA orders
The cost of delivery is set and advised before you check-out and depends on your order destination.
Our orders to Australia, Canada or USA orders are normally delivered within 5-7 working days and are traceable with the tracking number you receive once your order has been dispatched.
Orders to countries outside the EU are charged exclusive of Sales Tax and may be subject to VAT, import duties and/or taxes, which are levied once your package reaches your country and if so has to be settled when picking up your order.
Can I track my order?
Yes, all of our orders are traceable. You will find the tracking code in your order dispatch email.
I have a Problem with my Order
If you have an issue with your order order or have received faulty goods or incorrect items, please contact us no later than 14 days after delivery on myorder@BYEM.com and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

What happens if leave my order unclaimed or don't pick it up once it arrives?
If a package fails to be delivered to your residence after multiple delivery attempts, or is unclaimed at a post office or similar location, the package will be returned to us and you will be charged 250SEK for the cost of the return delivery and administration. We hope you understand that we are a young brand who at this time cannot cover costs such as this.
How long does it take for my refund to be processed?
Depending on where you live, the time it takes for the refund to reach you may vary. Kindly note that it can take up to 30 days to and should you have paid with a credit or debit card, the money will appear back in your account.
My refund is late or missing
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account. If you can’t see the funds there, contact your credit card company and bank as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Can I make pre-orders
Yes, we do offer some items for pre-order, if so you will find them here
How do pre-orders work?
Since all of our pieces come in a limited edition, pre-ordering your garment allows you to order it before it arrives in stock.
When you visit the pre-order page of the garment you are interested in, you will be able to see the approximate delivery date for that garment and make an order.
A pre-order is processed as a normal order and payment will be taken once it has been placed. You will then receive an order confirmation to your email and once the garment has been made and is out for delivery, you will receive tracking information to help you follow your package right to your door.
The return policy for pre-orders is just as for a normal purchase.
Kindly note that the delivery date might be delayed, if so you will be notified via email.
